Root-cause recovery roadmap: sessions & success rates by condition
When you're seeking help for anxiety, burnout or an old pattern, the first question is almost always the same: how long will this take, and does it work? Here's a data-driven roadmap — typical session ranges and improvement rates by condition.
I work from Breukelen, near Utrecht, using the OMNI Advanced method — a structured, ISO 9001-certified process aimed at the subconscious root cause rather than the surface symptom. We work to resolution, not to a timer, and there are no packages. The figures below are based on clinical literature and OMNI benchmarks; individual response varies.
The roadmap
These ranges reflect typical OMNI root-cause work using Regression-to-Cause (R2C). They're a guide for planning, not a guarantee — depth of the issue and readiness for change both shape the path.
| Condition | Typical sessions | Improvement rate | Primary goal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anxiety & panic | 3–5 | 85–93% | Neutralise subconscious triggers; restore a felt sense of safety. |
| Burnout & stress | 4–6 | 80–90% | Address perfectionism and boundaries; reset the nervous system. |
| Trauma patterns | 3–6 | 75–88% | Decouple the emotional charge from the originating memory. |
| Phobias & specific fears | 1–3 | 90%+ | Desensitise a specific, well-defined trigger. |
| Self-confidence | 2–4 | 85%+ | Update the "not enough" core belief at its source. |
| Habits (smoking, eating) | 1–3 | High initial | Find what the habit solves, and resolve that need. |
Rates are based on clinical meta-analyses and OMNI method benchmarks; individual results vary. For more, see how many sessions you really need.
Why root-cause work needs fewer sessions
Your conscious mind has a filter — sometimes called the critical factor — that rejects information contradicting what you already believe ("I'm not safe", "I'm not enough"). Talking at that filter rarely moves it. In hypnosis we work past it, with your consent and full awareness, to reach the part of you that holds the original material.
OMNI then uses Regression-to-Cause: we find the moment a pattern began — the initial sensitising event — and process the emotion attached to it. When that root is resolved, the symptom it was producing often loses its foundation. That's why a handful of sessions can do what months of surface management cannot. More on the Method page.
Success rate (Barrios)
Reported after just 6 sessions in Barrios' 1970 review — vastly fewer than other approaches studied.
Anxiety reduction
Typical improvement reported for anxiety when root-cause work resolves the originating trigger.
Certified process
OMNI was the first hypnosis process to gain ISO 9001 certification, in 2015 — documented and audited.
Anxiety & panic: the 3–5 session window
Anxiety is often a misfiring of the body's alarm system. In the first session we map the structure of the fear. By the second and third, we're usually working with the root memory or the part of the subconscious that's over-protecting you. By around the fifth, most clients describe a neutral feeling where a trigger used to be.
Burnout: reconnecting body and meaning
Burnout (4–6 sessions) is more complex because it involves chronic physical exhaustion. We address the perfectionism or inability to set boundaries underneath it, and use hypnotic tools to help the nervous system downshift — the kind of deep recovery sleep alone often can't provide. The free recordings are a good place to start settling the system before we meet.
The multilingual advantage
For many people near Utrecht, deep emotion is best processed in a native language. Sessions are available in English and Polish — and reaching an early memory in the language it was formed in can make the root-cause work more direct.
